





BACKGROUND
Clean Air Asia works towards achieving better air quality and livable cities in Asia and our vision is an Asia without air pollution. Clean Air Asia was established as the leading air quality management network for Asia in 2001. We have offices in Manila, Beijing and Delhi, country networks in six Asian countries and are an UN-recognized partnership of 261 organizations in Asia and worldwide.
Clean Air Asia is working on one of the most pressing environmental issues in China - air quality improvement. We are officially registered in China under the supervision of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Beijing Bureau of Public Security.

We are recruiting for a full time Air Quality Lead to join us at Clean Air Asia in Beijing, China. A self-motivated and talented individual with knowledge and skills in air pollution control and climate change mitigation is welcome to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES and SCOPE OF WORK
Under the direct supervision of the China Air Quality Program Director, the Air Quality Lead based in Beijing, China shall support the implementation of AQ projects and programs of Clean Air Asia in China.
A. Project management and implementation
- Responsible for the implementation of China-based AQ projects through conducting research, preparing project reports, meeting proceedings, presentations, workshops, conferences and events, including logistical and budgetary arrangements
- Lead the design and organization of city capacity building activities
- Support the implementation of China components of Asian regional exchange project
- Represent Clean Air Asia in meetings, workshops, conferences and events, as required
- Assist the China Air Quality Program Director in developing new projects
- Deliver other project-related tasks assigned by the China Air Quality Program Director
B.Knowledge management
- Responsible for the China specific AQ research and deliver high quality knowledge products
- Prepare factsheets, articles, and reports for publication on Clean Air Asia’s Chinese-version website and social media
- Deliver presentations on Clean Air Asia knowledge products or act as a trainer at Better Air Quality (BAQ) conference and other workshops and events, as required
C. Building Partnerships among Clean Air Asia Networks
- Maintain positive and professional relationships and assist in developing professional relationships with key Clean Air Asia partners and stakeholders in China
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS and CRITERIA
- Master’s degree or above in air quality related fields, e.g. environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental policy
- At least 5 years' work experience in one or more of the following fields: air quality, energy, climate change
- Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated capacity in project management
- Ability to work with teams with different functions and multi-cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work proactively and think critically
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing skills in Chinese and fluent spoken English
- Demonstrated attention to detail
DURATION, REMUNERATION and OTHER BENEFITS
The base monthly remuneration is competitive but may vary subject to the candidate’s professional qualifications and work experience. Government-mandated employee benefits will also be provided.
Clean Air Asia provides 24 days paid leaves and observes 11 public holidays per year. Clean Air Asia also provides opportunities for travel domestically and internationally.
