TITLE: Senior Manager, New Business Development (Domestic focus)

ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, New Business Development is responsible for formulating organisational fundraising target with the focus on domestic market, and delivering fundraising target to ensure the organisation's business strategy are realized.
The role holder is expected to play a key role in forming governance body (an advisory committee) through engaging with various senior stakeholder including HNWI, philanthropists,, Sr government officials, etc.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Dimensions:
Designs, establishes and maintains the SC China Country Office Domestic Funding Strategy, ensures the potential funding opportunities are collected and that the CO is prepared for such opportunities by developing strong relationships with HNWI and partnership corporations .
Works closely with the Country Director, SMTs, NBD teams in both China and Global team and wider SC members to ensure the funding target is ac hived.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
The role includes a mix of responsibilities including project management, opportunity/ risk management, stakeholder management, facilitation and communications.
· Through research in the market trend, develop multiyear fundraising frameworks, set up annual fundraising target and execute activities to ensure the smooth progress and funding target are realized.
· Design donor engagement plan to expand the fundraising network, maintaining good cooperative relationships, seeking potential partners and developing long-term partnerships
· Develop and capture various business opportunities, aiming to grow portfolio through engaging with HNWI, corporations, institutions and government, and lead opportunity development process
· Set up and coordinate multiple work streams of activity with support from program team and NBD team, to ensure we are able to clearly articulate our fundraising needs, goals, priorities with donors
· Responsible for arranging and organizing activities, include employee engagement, social activities, gift donation etc, to increase SC's visibility
· Develop processes, products and engagement opportunities within Save the Children to help SC China to get SCI/SCA’s,commitment and buy-in to these agendas, secure required strategic investments
· Provide effective stakeholder management, support forming an advisory committee for SC China CO, facilitate effective governance and engagement to strengthen the integration of committee
· Proactively work with the global RMCE team and Member offices to Champion SC China’s business strategy when appropriate
· Represent Save the Children China CO as needed with key institutional, corporate, foundation and other donors and support to advance SCI China CO visibility and reputation.
· Provide project / change management capacity to drive and support priority events or projects where needed

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
· 8+Development professional with a relevant Master Degree or equivalent professional experience.
· 5+years demonstrated experience identifying and securing funding from institutional donors, corporate donors and/or foundations.
· Demonstrated ability to develop new alliances and formal networks, mobilize external resources, and foster relationships with key stakeholders to achieve long-term mutual interests.
· Citron knowledge of current trends in the charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.
· Strong commercial business acumen and risk management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to solve complex issues through critical thinking, analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
· Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including communicating with impact, influencing, negotiation, and coaching.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a senior management team, contributing constructively beyond the role’s specific resource mobilization remit.
· Experience in project and change management related to organization development projects and international, cross-functional teams with a proven history of delivering results.
· A high degree of flexibility and adaptability in order to respond to changing needs. Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods.
· Strong communication (written and spoken) in English, with ability to summarise and present information.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

· Promote the message of child safeguarding to colleagues in other organizations and government ministries, children in their own and beneficiary families, and community members in general.
· Be vigilant about observing possible child abuse/harm in their personal and professional lives.
