





Position Title: Senior Program Officer (Chengdu)
Location: Chengdu
Major Function:
1. Support the Program Manager in preparing the Snow Leopard Programme strategies, workplans/budgets, reports, and communication materials.
2. Responsible for independently implementing certain project components, coordinating with local partners and stakeholders, and supporting innovation and best practices to achieve the program’s overall goals and enhance its conservation impact.
3. Assist in regional development work including policy advocacy, public engagement, and corporate collaboration.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support the implementation of specific components of the Snow Leopard Programme in western provinces, ensuring that project activities align with the program’s workplan and M&E plan.
2. Assist in the preparation of program strategies, annual workplans/budgets, progress reports, and communication materials.
3. Coordinate partnerships with local government sectors, communities, academic institutions, consultants, and NGOs to support effective project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
4. Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of program communication materials, including updates, profiles, achievement briefs, and donor communication.
5. Support effective engagement with policy makers at various levels to promote demonstrated conservation outcomes and contribute to relevant policy discussions.
6. Assist in regional outreach activities such as public engagement campaigns, experience exchange visits, and communication events.
7. Support international fundraising efforts for snow leopard program, including coordination with WWF network donor offices and preparation of proposals.
8. Perform other tasks designated by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in ecology, wildlife conservation, or a related field preferred; a Bachelor’s degree with strong experience will also be considered.
2. At least 5 years of professional experience in conservation project implementation, with strong skills in field coordination and working with diverse partners.
3. Proven ability in project coordination and reporting.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
5. Proficiency in standard office software and preferably GIS or data management tools.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
7. Willingness and ability to travel frequently to field sites.
8. Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
