Organization Name Change
Statement
Dear Donors, Government departments, NGOs, Business partners and the Volunteers:
Thank you all for your long-term support and close cooperation with Beijing One Plus One Cultural Exchange Center.
Since founded in March 2006, One Plus One has been committed to the development of disabled peoples’ organizations (hereafter referred to as DPOs) and focusing on improving the quality of our products and services provided to people with disability, especially visually impaired people. Being self-sufficient, self-media and self-advocate is always our goal.
Since 1+1 Visually Impaired People’s Sound Studio became independent from Beijing One Plus One Cultural Exchange Center and set up its own Sheng Bo Net (Beijing One Plus One Media Culture Co., Ltd), our understanding of the concept of disability has been deepening continuously. Based on the current situation of the development of DPOs in China, our own service objects for the future, channel development, as well as institutional marketing demand, we reformed the organization in October 2010 again, with the approval of Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce Fengtai Branch, the name of the organization has officially changed from 【Beijing One Plus One Cultural Exchange Center】to:
【One Plus One(Beijing)Disabled Persons’ Cultural Development Center】
The organization’s logo changed to:
The newly reformed organization will work as a supporting and development center for people with disability and DPOs in China. Sheng Bo Net is the first 1+1 member organization. We will work tightly together in the future and strive to create more social spaces to meet the developing needs of people with disabilities in China.
All contact details of organization departments and member institution remain the same; all current printing materials will still use the former organization name. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely yours,
November 15, 2010
One Plus One (Beijing) Disabled Persons’ Cultural Development Center
