Position Summary

The (Senior) Program Manager, Industry, is a key member of the ClimateWorks Foundation China Office, responsible for advancing industrial decarbonization in China. This role leads program development, grantmaking, research, project management, and partnership building in the industrial sector to accelerate the transition to low-carbon industry.

Key Responsibilities

●      Sector Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on policies, technologies, and trends critical to facilitate a robust industry decarbonization in China.

●      Strategy Development: Support the Chief Representative in shaping and refining evidence-based strategies for industrial transformation, engaging with sector experts and stakeholders.

●      Grantmaking & Project Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with potential grantees; design and oversee grant-funded projects and maintain a robust pipeline aligned with program goals.

●      Cross-team Collaboration & Partnership Building: Foster proactive communication and effective collaboration with internal CWF teams and global partners to drive strategic alignment and maximize synergies.

●      Stakeholder Management: Build and manage relationships with grantees, industrial associations, technical experts, peer organizations, and other key stakeholders; monitor project progress and support reporting and evaluation.

●      Funder Engagement: Prepare program updates and reports for funders; coordinate communications and meetings; create materials to highlight industrial impact and needs.

●      Proposal & Compliance Support: Draft and review grant proposals and reports, conduct due diligence, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

●      Event Coordination: Organize convenings, workshops, and partner meetings to strengthen networks and scale impact within the industrial sector.

●      Team & Administrative Support: Assist the Chief Representative and team with additional tasks as needed to support the China Office’s effectiveness.

Qualifications

●      Bachelor’s degree or higher in energy, environment, engineering, industry, or a related field.

●      At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in industrial decarbonization, clean manufacturing, or related program management. NGO or international organization experience is preferred.

●      Deep understanding of China’s industrial landscape, decarbonization pathways, and industrial policies.

●      Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

●      Experience collaborating with industrial partners, government agencies, and research organizations.

●      Excellent written and spoken Mandarin and English; able to communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences.

●      Able to work well independently and in cross-functional teams.

●      Resourceful, proactive, and flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment; committed to ClimateWorks Foundation’s mission and values.

●      Willingness and ability to travel as required within China and internationally.
