Reports to: Senior Performance and Standard Manager, FSC China

FSC China is looking for a Senior System Solutions Officer(P4)/Manager (P5) to reinforce its technical work.

The Scope

The Senior System Solutions Officer/Manager is responsible for supporting/leading the localization and implementation of FSC's system solution tools in China. This role focuses on providing crucial project coordination, technical expertise, and administrative support, with a primary emphasis on the FSC TRACE (block chain) platform and integrity-related activities.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To plan, implement, and report on FSC Trace Roll-out (for Manager)
  • To organize workshops and trainings independently and effectively, including but not limited to event planning, implementation, review and reporting.
  • To coordinate with internal and external experts in China, regionally and internationally to develop guides, training materials as requested.
  • To develop and deliver online and offline information sessions on FSC Trace;
  • To conduct research and surveys to feed into the planning and improvement of FSC Trace.
  • To coordinate public consultations with Chinese stakeholders in relation to FSC solutions and tools.
  • To analyze and respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders related to FSC Trace and integrity issues.
  • To manage vendor selection, negotiation and support procurement process for the roll out project.
  • To collate, translate and draft communication pieces on updates of FSC Trace or Integrity related issues;
  • Additional tasks as agreed with FSC China

Reporting line and Coordination

The FSC China Senior System Solutions Officer/Manager reports to the FSC China Senior Performance and Standard Manager.

The FSC China Senior System Solutions Officer/Manager coordinates with the other business teams at FSC China, FSC Asia Pacific Regional Office, and FSC International.

Qualification and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Administration, Training, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in standards, certification systems, sustainable development, training, or a related field (8 years for Manager).
  • Previous experience with FSC, EUDR compliance, or system integrity is a distinct advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Project & Event Management: Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and organize multi-stakeholder events from planning through to reporting.
  • Communication & Training: Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with experience designing and delivering effective online and in-person training.
  • Analytical & Technical: Strong analytical ability to address technical inquiries and produce clear, concise reports and communications.
  • Language: Full professional proficiency in English and Chinese, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to work both independently and within a multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multilingual team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven skill in working collaboratively and effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to efficiently manage multiple priorities. A proactive individual who excels both independently and in a team setting.

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Beijing, China
  • Working Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Contract Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Contract Duration: 1 year, with possibility of extension
  • Travel: Domestic travel required; occasional regional or international travel may be necessary
  • Rate: Commensurate with experience
