Summary

The position is responsible for the coordination and management of ICLEI’s sustainable cities program in China, with the focus on low emission development, biodiversity, resilience and sustainable urban transition. The position also contributes to ICLEI’s membership services and partnership development in China and Asia.

• 拓展合作伙伴关系， 为项目开展筹措更多资源和资金支持；

• 与地方政府紧密合作，为会员提供因地制宜的技术支持；

• 管理和协调项目团队成员，带领团队高效地开展工作；

• 与其他宜可城办公室保持密切协作；

Essential duties and responsibilities

• In line with the ICLEI China strategy, manage and coordinate China program activities in areas of urban biodiversity, climate change adaptation and resilience, and urban transition to ensure the impact and quality;

• Strengthen strategic partnerships and mobilize more resources and funding support for program development;

• Maintain close communications with Chinese members and provide tailored technical support to Chinese members.

• Supervise related program officers and guide the team work to deliver high quality outputs;

• Coordinate closely with the other ICLEI offices;

任职要求

• 教育背景：硕士研究生或以上学历，城市规划、环境、发展、项目管理或其它相关专业毕业；

• 工作经验：至少5年以上相关工作经验和技术背景，包括至少2年以上的项目团队管理经验；有在国际组织或政府工作经验者优先；

• 语言能力：母语为中文，精通英文；

• 领导能力：优异的领导才能，能够有效地激励和引领团队成员，产出高质量的成果;

• 沟通能力：能在跨文化和多元背景的工作环境中，用中英文进行清晰而缜密的沟通;善于团队协作，并在团队沟通中推动达成共识;

• 具有进行战略分析并深入理解中国城市可持续发展需求的能力，能够识别潜在的项目机会;

• 自我激励，能承受压力并独立开展工作;具有创新思维，有能力提出新方案和倡议；

Required qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree or above, in a related field such as environment, ecology, climate change, urban development and sustainability;

• Experience: a minimum of five years of related working experience in the key technical areas mentioned above, including at least two years of proven experience in a managerial position; working experience with international organizations and / with local governments is preferred;

• Language: native Chinese speaker, with excellent command of spoken and written English;

• Leadership: proven leadership and managerial skills and experience; ability to guide and coordinate the program team work in order to deliver quality results;

• Communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and logically in Chinese and English and across different cultures and backgrounds; good at teamwork and consensus building in group communications;

• Strategic thinking: ability to strategically analyze and understand the context of sustainable local development in China, anticipate and identify potential program opportunities;

• Initiative: self-motivated, be able to work independently with minor supervision and under pressure; ability to propose and develop new initiatives with innovative thinking;
