Organizational context
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies (NSs). The East Asia Country Cluster Delegation (EACCD or EAD) based in Beijing, China works closely with the East Asia National Societies (EANS) of the following countries: China (Red Cross Society of China – RCSC), Japan (Japanese Red Cross Society – JRCS), Mongolia (Mongolian Red Cross Society – MRCS) and the Republic of Korea (Korea National Red Cross – KNRC). The IFRC EAD also provides remote support to the DPRK Red Cross Society (DPRK RCS) through the IFRC Country Delegation in DPRK.
Job purpose
The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) is one of the most important partners of IFRC and play more and more actively as an international humanitarian actor. The International Relations Assistant will support an effective implementation of all international issues at operational level of the RCSC HQ and coordinate the good cooperation between IFRC and RCSC.
International Relations Assistant reports to the Head of International Organisation Division of External Liaison Department of RCSC and facilitates and coordinates the international affairs.
This position will be located in RCSC Headquarter with tasks fulfilled to support IFRC related issues in priority, who may require attending to IFRC meetings/trainings and complete necessary admin requirements in IFRC office every two weeks.
Job duties and responsibilities
The International Relations Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the Red Cross Society of China's (RCSC) international engagement efforts, with a particular focus on facilitating effective coordination and communication between RCSC and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
1. Maintain smooth, timely, and proactive communication between the RCSC and the IFRC;
2. Provide high-quality interpretation and translation support (Chinese-English) as needed for IFRC-related activities, correspondence, and meetings;
3. Facilitate the planning, coordination, and follow-up of IFRC-related visits, missions, and activities with the RCSC, as agreed by both parties.
4. Support the Head of International Organizations Division in dealing with International Affairs of RCSC, including but not limited to:
1) Maintain good relationship and cooperation between RCSC and other International Organizations.
2) Develop and maintain regular cooperation mechanism between RCSC and other Red Cross Movement partners around the world.
3) Organize International and regional conferences/meetings to boost exchanges and cooperation between RCSC and other international partners.
4) Provide support to the collaboration between RCSC technical departments and their IFRC counterparts.
5) Provide support to High level exchanges between RCSC and International Partners.
6) Manage relevant files and documents of international cooperation and relations.
7) Acting as an CN-EN interpreter/translator during high level meetings and the routine work.

Education requirement
· University degree or Diploma in CN-EN Translation, Interpretation, International Relations, Management or other related degrees/studies..
Position requirements
· Consent to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement basic vision and ideology.
· Proficient office computer software skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and etc.
· Excellent learning skill.
· Strong sense of responsibilities and confidentialities.
· Excellent skills to communicate and coordinate in team works, Possession of team spirit.
Languages
· Exceptional / advanced skill in spoken and written English and Chinese. Those who have passed the TEM-8 are preferred.
· Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic) are preferred.
