





Position title: Senior Program Officer (Changchun)
Reports to: Regional Program Head, Changchun
Location: Changchun
Function: This position will strengthen the capacities of WWF NEC team in project implementation and delivering suitable outcomes related to Amur/heilong ecoregion conservation program.
Main Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for and lead the working group to implement the proposed projects/ activities/ campaigns relevant to habitat restoration, sustainable forest, and wildlife population recovery conservation program.
• Provide necessary information and data for WWF LT, NEC regional Office, relevant WWF CN P-projects, Tiger Alive Initiative and Amur-Heilong Ecoregion Complex program to develop conservation strategy and operation plans.
• Help regional head to develop annual work plan and budget preparation, monitoring and reporting progress and results, and taking adaptive management approaches to ensure the effective implementation of these strategies and operation plans.
• Provide programmatic and technical oversight for the implementation of projects and activities related to tiger conservation and regional development.
• Develop tools and materials for information, communications, and campaigning on WWF's conservation activities.
• Keep abreast with developments in the field and alert the head office of WWF China and Network on emerging issues and trends.
• Work together with the regional office to strengthen partnership and collaboration with stakeholders such as government agencies, academies, NGOs, private sectors, and local communities as relevant to achieve the Strategic goals/Objectives.
• Support to build and maintain relations with related WWF Network offices and external partners
• Support the regional office and fundraising teams on developing fundraising products and proposals, provide technical support in donor acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Perform other tasks designated by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
• At least master’s degree in ecology, wildlife conservation or related.
• At least 5-year work experience in wildlife conservation, community development or related field.
• More than 2-year experience in full cycle project management is preferred.
• Basic competency of project management.
• Understanding conservation issues in China.
• Familiar with international organization operating rules.
• Familiar with adaptive management approach.
• Excellent language skills in Chinese and English.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic learning ability.
• Adaptive to frequent field travel.
• Dynamic, creative, proactive, credible, accountable, and outgoing personality and commitment to nature conservation.
