WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Strategic Development (SD) Senior Manager works closely with global & regional SD colleagues, as well as conservation teams, creates and implements plans for the ongoing cultivation of donors capable of major and/or deferred gifts. They conduct meetings with donors and prospects to cultivate relationships and gifts. The SD Senior Manager provides ongoing opportunities for contact with new and current donors.
The SD Senior Manager is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation of major and planned gift prospects through meetings, trips, events, and other activities. They may be responsible for managing fundraising support. They will move prospects capable of gifts of higher amounts to the prospect pool for management by senior fundraising staff and integration into the Moves Management process. They will work on a variety of activities including providing complex conservation and financial program information to prospects and coordinating correspondence and acknowledgments across a program. They use the Conservancy’s donor database to update donor information, produce reports, perform analysis, and track and cultivate donors. The SD Senior Manager understands the influencing factors on donors and the types of assets that may be used for the donor’s giving; applies knowledge to interactions with donors and gift asks. They will capitalize on matching gift opportunities. They may travel frequently, and work long and flexible hours as needed. The work environment may involve infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU
The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Senior Manager who’s passionate about fundraising and business development to help convey TNC’s mission to diverse groups. You would be part of a team of philanthropy and development professionals cultivating relationships and gifts with our amazing donors globally.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
Experience building relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff.
Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.
Major gift and direct fundraising experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy’s work.
Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles.
Ability to work with colleagues from different function and locations to design, implement and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation and recognition plans.
Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
Knowledge of current trends in the charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.
Strong Communication skills both in English and Mandarin.
Strong negotiating and organizational skills.
Quick learner with open-minded
Working knowledge of the basics of charitable gift planning.
