Human Resources and Finance Manager
MSF is always looking for experienced HR and Finance professionals who are passionate about humanitarian work and eager to apply their skills and expertise in our field interventions.
Role Overview
As the HR and Finance Manager, your primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and implement HR, administrative, and financial policies and activities within the project. This must be done in accordance with legal requirements and MSF protocols, standards, and procedures, to ensure the organization has quality, reliable, and transparent information on the use and allocation of resources to achieve project objectives.
Human Resources Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the effective planning and management of the project’s human resources. This includes overseeing the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment to end of contract—ensuring compliance with internal regulations and national labor laws. You will work closely with the HR Coordinator who oversees HR at the country level.
Finance Responsibilities
You will manage the financial operations of the project, including:
- Budget creation and monitoring
- Financial forecasting
- Supervision of accounting
- Cash and treasury management
- Oversight of internal control systems
- Management of donor budgets
You will work in collaboration with the Finance Coordinator responsible for country-level financial oversight.
With staff under your supervision, you will also be responsible for organizing and delivering training for team members involved in HR and finance tasks.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Human Resources, Economics, Management, Human Sciences, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in HR and/or Finance, with a strong interest in both areas
- Willingness to take on responsibilities in both HR and Finance
- Fluency in English (French is an asset)
- Experience working with NGOs and/or in developing countries is an advantage
- Willingness to work in diverse contexts, including politically unstable areas and conflict zones
- Availability for assignments of 6 to 12 months
