Title: Program Manager, Sustainable Blue Economy

Economy for a Healthy and Resilient Ocean
Location: Beijing / Shanghai
Main Responsibilities:
As part of the team Sustainable Blue Economy for a Healthy and
Resilient Ocean (SBE), the manager
will play a key role in overall coordinating ocean conservation- related
projects. This manager
should oversee projects related to marine
protected areas (MPA), with specific focus on local community, aquaculture,
small-scall fishery, etc., and seek best solutions on sustainable blue economy
in local contexts.
The person will jointly contribute to ensure the
coherence and synergy of SBE team as well as to support the mission of WWF
China and the Network.
Actual seniority will be determined by the candidate’s
capacity and experience.
Lead on WWF
China’s marine protected area-related work, with some specific focuses on local
community, aquaculture, small-scall fishery, etc.
Manage
on-going projects, including implementation, reporting, planning annual
activities and budgets, etc.
Raise fund for
future projects.
Digest and
advocate policies and promote best practices of MPA management.
Lead the
engagement with related stakeholders (government, NGOs, experts, and civil
society) that are critical for related projects.
Participate in monthly / quarterly
meetings with WWF network and donors and be a
conduit of knowledge of MPA in China for WWF's global network.
Working with
communication team to develop campaign activities when needed.
Support SBE team
to develop and implement other related projects or project activities, when
needed.
Other duties
as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate
degree (master’s degree preferred) in related areas, e.g., ecology, marine
biology, environment science, protected area management, fishery, aquaculture,
etc.
Strong
knowledge on areas described above.
At least 8
years experiences in related areas, 3 years in managerial role is preferred.
Experiences of
working with industries, government, research institutions, NGOs, and other
important stakeholders.
Strong
communication skills with effectiveness and efficiency.
Demonstrated
skills of project management.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
INGO
backgrounds preferred.

The Sustainable Blue Economy for a Healthy and Resilient
Ocean is a Priority Project for ocean conservation and plastic pollution
reduction. It aims to scale up the conservation effort in China for sustainable
fisheries, resilient coasts and reducing plastic pollution.
