Financial Coordinator

The Financial Coordinator plans, centralizes, coordinates, and supervises financial management across the mission—including budgeting, accounting, treasury, reporting, audits, and legal financial obligations—in line with MSF policies and procedures. The role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and transparent financial information to MSF and external stakeholders, supporting effective resource allocation.

You will also be responsible for implementing and ensuring the effectiveness of the internal control system.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor financial operations and budgets, anticipating changes and challenges
• Define the financial strategy for the mission
• Ensure compliance with MSF financial policies and guidelines
• Oversee treasury operations and accounting to ensure smooth financial functioning and risk mitigation
• Manage local bank accounts, cash flow, supplier payments, and staff salaries
• Supervise, coach, and develop the finance team, resolving conflicts and ensuring team capacity

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commercial Sciences, or equivalent experience in financial management
• At least 2 years of MSF or equivalent NGO experience
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent diplomatic and communication skills
• Must be able to speak French or have at least B1-level proficiency
• Availability for 12 to 24 months per assignment
