Job Summary
The Senior Program Associate, Cross-sectoral, will play a key role in supporting the Associate Director for Strategy and Planning at the ClimateWorks Foundation (CWF) China Office. The position focuses on office-level strategy and planning, cross-sectoral strategy development, management of emerging and cross-cutting grant portfolios, and fostering collaboration across teams to advance CWF’s mission in China.
Essential Tasks
- Strategic Support: Assist the Associate Director in office-wide strategy and planning processes, including annual strategic reviews, workplan development, and progress tracking.
- Emerging Strategy Development: Conduct research and analysis on emerging trends and innovative approaches in climate and energy transition, with a focus on cross-sectoral opportunities.
- Grant Management: Support the management of cross-sectoral and emerging grant portfolios, including identifying potential grantees, tracking grant progress, and coordinating grant reporting and evaluation.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and information-sharing between different program teams (e.g., power, industry, transport, finance) to identify synergies and maximize collective impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Help organize internal and external meetings, workshops, and events that bring together diverse partners from different focus areas.
- Reporting & Communications: Prepare briefing materials, internal reports, and communications for senior leadership, funders, and partners.
- Administrative & Coordination Tasks: Provide administrative and coordination support for office-level strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned by senior leaders of the office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in climate and environmental studies, public policy, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in project management, strategy development, or program coordination—ideally in the climate, energy, or international development sector. NGO or international organization experience is preferred.
- Strong skills in research, data analysis, and synthesizing complex information for decision making.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and facilitate cross-team communication.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong alignment with the mission and values of ClimateWorks Foundation.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required within China and internationally.

Location
ClimateWorks Foundation is based in the San Francisco Financial District. This position is based in Beijing, China.
