Contract Term: 6 months from mid of September 2025 to mid of March 2026
Key Responsibilities
The China IP SME Helpdesk, a European Union funded project which supports European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with protection and enforcement of their Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) when internationalising to China through the provision of free information and services, requires an in-house IP Business Advisor to provide SMEs with accurate and confidential advice, carry out trainings as well as manage a team of external experts. This role encompasses several key tasks that support the project team including but not limited to:
Customer advice
- Provide relevant timely jargon-free confidential advice to businesses (within three working days), institutions and universities from EU countries and countries participating in the Single Market Program.
- Create a dialogue with clients and provide on-going advice where required, including via one-on-one online consultation sessions.
- Record all answers provided and create template answers
- Ensure that 2/3 of the helpline users are satisfied with the service provided.
IP Trainings
- Present at IP training seminars and workshops, including online workshops
- Provide IP business advice to SMEs during IP training seminars and workshops (20-minute consultation sessions booked in advance)
Legal research and update
- Assess the impact of the enquiry service through creation of case studies based on the enquiries received.
- Work with project team to measure and increase the number of enquiries.
- Keep abreast of China and international IPR news.
- Manage the drafting of biannual IP Challenge Reports and ad hoc policy reports.
- Support research into the IPR challenges and regulations for specific industrial sectors in China.
- Support the drafting of new guides and other IP materials.
Represent the Helpdesk
- Represent the Helpdesk at meetings with stakeholders including the European Delegation, European Chamber and Member State Embassies.
Skills & experience
Higher education degree, e.g. Law, Business Administration
at least 3 years’ experience related to Intellectual Property
Good analytical and organizational skills
Outstanding verbal and written communicator
Strong planning and analytical organisation skills
Responsible, professional, open-minded, and strategic thinker
Near native English speaker a must, other European languages and Mandarin are a plus
Professional appearance and demeanor
