About the WE Program and What WE do

WE is not your typical supply chain workplace program. We don’t do audits or checklists. We facilitate conversations to improve working conditions.Founded in 2008 by the German brand Tchibo and now an independent organisation based in the Netherlands, the WE Program works with factories and brands to improve working conditions in global supply chains. Combining industry knowledge with open dialogue, and creative workshops and storytelling, we help workers/managements/owner talk honestly and courageously about the issues they face—from health and safety to gender discrimination/harrasement—and support them in finding practical solutions together. We work in places where change is hard—but needed. That’s where you come in.Learn more about us: 🌐 we-program.community 🌐 Tchibo & WE

Who we are

WE is a global learning community: a mixed bunch of pioneers, changemakers, former auditors and bridge builders. As trained facilitators we are experts in helping to address complex challenges. Currently based in ten different countries, supported by an even larger worldwide network, we understand the complex reality in each of these countries. WE is always looking for the next edge; new methods to work with and new insights to apply. Like no other, we know how to create the conditions for magic to happen.

This position is suitable for both (former) compliance officers/ auditors who want to improve working conditions, but understand the limitations of that approach. Or experienced facilitators/ trainers who want to use their skills to improve working conditions.

•Regional and international exposure in a global learning community

•Training in WE’s unique methodology and tools

•Continuous learning in facilitation, complexity, and others

•A flexible working structure (you can live anywhere in China)

•A space to experiment, reflect, and grow

•Competitive remuneration based on experience

What You'll Do and Bring

•Support factory owners, managers, and workers to co-create meaningful, human-centered improvements

•Write the experiences in the factories in the internal system and support story-based assessments on working conditions

•Design and implement the yearly strategy, manage the program together with the local teammates

•Plan and travel to factory to conduct WE sessions (50% travel time, 50% work from home)

Who We're Looking For

•Has 5+ years of experience in labor relationships, decent work, or improving working conditions (especially in supply chain factories)

•or has experience in facilitation in groups

•Is courageous, curious, empathetic and open-minded

•Is confident working in factory settings and with diverse people

•Is committed to learning and reflecting

•Is fluent in Chinese and confident in reading, writing and speaking in English Bonus if you have: Knowledge on complexity

In 2023, it became an independent organization, registered in The Hague, The Netherlands, and continues to expand its impact through partnerships across multinational companies.
