Job overview | 职位概述

As a member of Agora’s China Regional Transition programme, you will play a key role in advancing energy transition initiatives in key regions, focusing on decarbonizing key emissions-intensive sectors and promoting a just energy transition. This position involves collaborating closely with domestic and international stakeholders to drive policy advancements and implement effective strategies that contribute to China’s dual carbon goals: peaking national carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.

Responsibility | 主要职责：

• Monitor and evaluate energy transition-related policies at the regional level.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify and develop strategies for key provinces or cities to achieve early carbon peaking and maintain progress toward carbon neutrality.
• Track and evaluate regional policies focused on ensuring a fair and just transition in the phasing down of fossil fuel production and consumption in China and other countries.
• Conduct comparative research and organize multilateral activities and events involving diverse stakeholders, in order to foster exchanges and collaborations between China and European/international partners at the regional level.
• Translate international experiences and lessons into actionable policy solutions tailored to China’s unique national circumstances.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects in close collaboration with colleagues across different programmes (e.g., clean power system transformation, industrial decarbonization) and strategic partners based in Berlin, Bangkok, Brussels, and other locations.
• Support the development and strengthening of partnerships with both domestic and international network partners.
• Actively engage in networking efforts to expand collaborative opportunities.
• Assist in the development and submission of funding proposals and deliverables to support programme goals and the long-term organizational vision.

• 与来自跨领域/项目（如电力、工业等）的同事以及来自柏林、曼谷、布鲁塞尔等地区的战略合作伙伴紧密合作，共同推动跨学科的综合研究项目。
• 加强与国内外合作伙伴的关系，拓展合作机会。
• 协助筹备项目资金申请与结项材料，以支持项目发展目标和本单位愿景。

What we are looking for | 我们希望您：

• A master’s degree or higher in climate, energy, environment, public policy, economics, political science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in research or consulting related to energy and climate policies.
• Proven expertise in energy and climate policies in China and Europe, with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Experience in economic modeling and/or green/transition financing is a plus.
• Analytical experience in energy transition at the regional level, with a deep understanding of policies in at least one Chinese province, is a plus.
• Familiarity with just transition policies is an added advantage.
• Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in both oral and written Chinese and English; knowledge of German is a plus.
• A proven track record of building and managing relationships with partners and funders.
• Experience working in multicultural and interdisciplinary contexts is preferred.
• A collaborative team player who demonstrates high levels of performance, accountability and a proactive approach to challenges.
• 拥有气候、能源、环境、公共政策、经济学、政治学或相关领域的硕士及以上学历。
• 至少3年能源和气候政策相关的研究或咨询经验。
• 具备对中国和欧洲能源及气候政策的专业理解，具备出色的定量与定性分析能力。
• 具备经济建模或绿色/转型金融经验者优先。
• 具备地方层面能源转型的研究经验，对中国至少一个省的相关政策有深入了解者优先。
• 熟悉公正转型政策者优先。
• 能够高效处理多项任务，在规定时间内保质保量完成工作。
• 精通中文、英文（口语及书面），德语流利者优先。
• 具备建立和管理合作伙伴及出资方关系的工作经验。
• 拥有跨文化、跨学科工作背景者优先。
• 具备良好的团队合作精神，工作效率高，责任感强，能够积极应对挑战。
