APRA China Country Manager

Position Summary

The China Country Manager will be managing the Asia Pacific Research Accelerator (APRA) Program, which aims to develop a standardized centralized data and management platform for ophthalmic research and clinical trials, and utilize Australian expertise to enhance the research capacity of China and the Asia-Pacific region. This project is initiated by the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA).

Working closely with the Australia team, the China Country Manager will be responsible for implementation of the APRA Program in China, including management of the APRA China team and the coordination of all APRA activities with partner hospitals.

The China Country manager will work independently and in close collaboration with the Australian APRA team, to ensure that program activities are planned, implemented and evaluated in an effective matter. The manager will proactively engage with and support all membership hospitals in China on all matters of the APRA program while providing leadership to the APRA China team.

The China Country Manager will be based in China, and travels within China and to Australia are required when necessary.

Selection Criteria

1. Bachelor or master degree in a paramedical or science related field

2. Strong knowledge on clinical research and trial conduct including monitoring procedures 

3.Thorough knowledge of ICH Guidelines and GCP including a basic understanding of regulatory requirements

4. Previous experience in clinical research environment including SOP and GCP implementation

5.Excellent communicator, both on the phone and face-to-face

6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful partnerships with key stakeholders

7. Sound knowledge of medical terminology

8. High proficiency in oral and written both Chinese and English

9. Can work autonomously as well as in a team

10. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, taking initiatives to manage risks and changes in the program

11. Provides pro-active input, identifying challenges and solutions

12. Excellent pc software skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Special Requirements

1.Frequent domestic and international travels will be required

2.Flexibility to work outside normal working hours will be required

Key Responsibilities

1.Oversight and ongoing interaction with clinical research sites

2.Work closely with the CERA program team, lead and facilitate implementation of APRA activities in China, ensure project outcomes and objectives are achieved in a timely manner and on budget

3.Manage project budgets, track financial expenditures of activities, develop financial reports regularly to stakeholders

4.Conduct pre-study, initiation, monitoring, and closeout visits for research sites as required

5. Complete visit reports

6.Managing staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems

7.Ensuring that staff are meeting defined workload and quality metrics through regular review and reporting of findings as outlined by clinical operations management

8.Participating in the allocation of resources to clinical research projects by assigning staff to clinical studies that are appropriate to their experience and training

9. Identifying quality risks and issues and create appropriate corrective action plans to prevent or correct deficiencies in performance of staff

10.Support the CERA program team to develop guidelines, standard procedures, protocols or strategic documents related to APRA in China

11. Represent APRA in meetings, conferences and other events and present on relevant projects

12.Organize and coordinate project events, including trainings, meetings, conferences, field visits etc.

Salary

Salary: 15000RMB-20000RMB (before tax) per month
