Seeing children through the eyes of our hearts

Dawen/The Bridge is hosting their second China-wide conference for Child Workers. This conference is open to all those who work with children in orphanages, kindergartens, or schools and whether they be migrant children, street kids, or other kinds of children. Through the plenary sessions and a wide range of supplementary workshops and opportunities to network together with other Child Workers, the conference aims to equip those who work with children to do so from the heart, with greater skills, more confidence, and stronger support.

 

Tina Hoffmann (Psycho-social Counselor) began working with children in the early 90's as a Kindergarten teacher in Austria. She and her husband came to China in mid 90's and established an orphanage for disabled children. She then received professional training as a counsellor and worked with individuals, families and children in China and with many different nationalities. Despite cultural differences, the heart and the innermost needs of human beings are the same anywhere in the world: To be seen, be heard, and responded to with love!

 

Our Workshops Many of presenters from last year will return this year. Coming from China and different countries around the world, they are all experienced in working with children. 

 

The different workshops will include these topics: Creative activities, Brain development in Teenagers, Social Development, New Teaching Methods, Special Needs Children, Counseling and communicating with wounded children, Helping children become resilient, Good self care is good child care, Down Syndrome Children, Boundaries and difficult children, Good attachment, Sex education, Child Development, Children's basic emotional needs, Child to child relationships

 

Conference Organization Conference Participants: Orphanage workers, Child caregivers, Child counselors,Teachers, Migrant kid workers, and Child project workers and leaders are invited Attendance for the whole week only! Sorry we can not take day guests. Conference Location: Resort in Guangzhou suburb Conference Dates: Registration:  Tuesday, 19th November, 4 – 6 pm. The Conference starts with a Celebration Dinner at 6.30 pm and ends after lunch on Nov. 23rd Transport will be arranged from Guangzhou airport; Guangzhou train station to airport can be reached by metro. Participants who need to travel outside these times will need to make their own arrangements at extra cost. Transport to Guangzhou is the responsibility of the individual. Cost all inclusive – bus transport to and from Guangzhou airport, accommodation, all meals and conference fee: 

 

•   Payment from August 1st to September 30th : 1500 Rmb

•   Payment from October 1st to October 31st:  1550 Rmb

•   Payment between November 1th to November 8th:  1600 Rmb

•   Last day of application and payment: November 8th
