ECOVILLAGE DESIGN EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF TRAINERS, THAILAND
16 JANUARY TO 4 MARCH 2012
Wongsanit Ashram, in Partenrship with Gaia Education, is pleased to invite you to our 5th annual Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) and Training of Trainers (TOT) courses.
Promoting a more holistic and interconnected way of life, EDE courses are run in many different urban and rural contexts around the world. Founded by Gaia Education, EDE has become the predominant course for those interested in understanding, exploring, joining and/or (re-) forming their own ecovillage.
The 4 dimensions of the EDE – Social Design, Worldview, Economic Design and Ecological Design – take participants on an experiential learning journey where heads, hearts and hands come together in an exploration & inquiry into community & ecovillage design.
Setting the Thailand EDE apart, a 5th week, Design Studio, offers participants the opportunity to apply knowledge learnt and insight gained over the previous 4 weeks on an actual site design project. Following a process of participatory action research & development (PAR), participants design sustainability into an existing Thai village or design a new project from the ground up.
The Thailand EDE, taught in English, weaves traditional knowledge of indigenous cultures from Asia with the new, emerging paradigms of intentional communities from the West.
In the follow-on Training of Trainers course, prepare to be enlightened in an innovative approach towards creating & facilitating transformative learning experiences. As with the EDE, the TOT is an experiential and participative course.
The Ecovillage Design Education and Training of Trainers is based on the Gaia Education Ecovillage Design Curriculum - an official contribution to the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development 2005-2014
Gaia Education is associated to the Global Ecovillage Network.
The attached brochure contains a detailed description of the course and links to the above mentioned organisations. If you have any further questions or require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to seeing you here.
