This Youth Festival is initiated by EACT and co-hosted by Beijing Science-Tech-Education Promotional Association and Beijing Municipal UNESCO Clubs Association. This annual event is organized to respond to the “100,000 Strong” initiative announced by US President Barack Obama, and will be held for the next four years. Besides, it has already been included as the 2nd official event in China during 2011 to celebrate the UN’s International Year of Youth which lasts from August 12, 2010 to August 11, 2011. This event has gained plenty supports from related governmental agencies as well as a good number of organizations and individuals from both US and China.

For this year’s event, there will be first a Global Development Youth Summit in Beijing from July 13 to 15, which is supposed to serve as a platform for over 300 global youth representatives to exchange innovative ideas and perspectives on how to pursue self-improvement and mutual-progress as well as how to create a better world tomorrow. After the summit, the youth representatives will go on with various youth programs delicately designed to satisfy diverse needs of them.
