关于《阴道独白》：

当伊芙·恩斯勒的不朽之作《阴道独白》初试啼声，在纽约上演后，立刻造成轰动，佳评如潮，而它的成功，在于恩斯勒勇于直接切入千百年来隐讳于世的话题，即女性的身体与隐私。纽约时报用“有趣”和“尖锐”来称赞它；而纽约日报则用“智慧”和“勇气”来肯定它。
恩斯勒沉缅于《阴道独白》的写作，她把这出戏用充满神秘、幽默、痛苦、震憾、聪明、伤害以及刺激等的经验，集合在一起，由女性用第一人称独白的方式娓娓道来。
《阴道独白》已经成为了被演出次数和翻译次数最多的美国当代戏剧。从克罗地亚到加利福尼亚；从伦敦到台北；从耶路撒冷到俄克拉荷马城都上演过，这些地区的观众也都为这出剧力万钧的戏而疯狂。《阴道独白》在全球各城市演出时，不同肤色、族群的女人，以相异的语言演出女性的身体和生命经验。
《阴道独白》在中国大陆已多次被未经授权的学生剧社演出过。王翀翻译、导演的版本是该剧在中国大陆经过授权的首度演出，已经在北京、上海、深圳和长沙演出二十余场。所到之处，媒体无不传颂，观众无不倾慕。薪传实验剧团还曾进行过3场义演，对红枫反家暴热线予以资助。

The Vagina Monologues Finally Premieres in China Mainland
It is not only an eye-catching title. The Obie Award best play, The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, is probably the most performed contemporary play in the world. It has been translated into at least 47 languages and staged in 130 countries. Since its premiere in New York in 1996, its hilarious and tear-jerking discussion on the female organ and female identity has deeply moved a generation of world audience. In China mainland, although it has been performed by college student groups, its professional premiere got banned in Shanghai in 2004, holding back followers.
But now, Théatre du Rêve Expérimental (Xinchuan Shiyan Jutuan), a Beijing-based performance group, is staging the play\'s China mainland premiere, again. In 2009, it had ten performances in Beijing and three in Shanghai, all sold-out. The run was reported by Time magazine online as "a hit."
