Objective　　

1) To give education and training for students contributing to build a sustainable society in three countries and the world

2) To promote students’ understanding of global issues and to encourage their activities to solve those problems

3) To promote mutual understanding and relationship-building of future leaders for cooperation of three countries

【Participants】University students from Japan, China and Korea

【Numbers】6 students from each country and a few stuffs ( approx. 20 people in sum)

            10:00            Preparing the presentation: good environmental practices, student network and joint declaration

            19:30            Discussion on Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network: making consensus on the vision, activities of network with joint declaration

Day 4            10:00            Field Trip : Visit to some environmental educational site

■Main Contents

1)            Sharing and evaluation of advanced cases

【Objective】

・            Through presentations, discussions and evaluation process on good practices, participants share the know- how of good practices. Moreover, it encourages students to aim higher with good motivation.

・            Contest and award style is expected to have effect to show best practices in student environmental activities to the world

【Content】

・            Presentation of 2 or 3 cases by each country followed by question and answers.

Decide the best practice by participants and advisors based on the presentations and Q&A.(TBA)

・            Expected to cooperate with Green-Campus in Korea and ECOCON(University Student Environment Activity Contest) from Japan on the standard to choose the good practices.

2)            Introduction of networking organizations and sharing of the challenges, exchange of opinions

【Objectives】

・            Presentations and opinion exchanges on the networking activities make participants have a clearer understanding of the present situations and perspectives for the future, in addition to encourage them to aim high.

・            It is expected to give good examples of foundation and operational/governing structure for establishment of Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network

【Contents】

・            After presentations, Q&A and discussions on centered networking organization in each country, participants and advisors give advice for problem-solving and future activities.

3)            Making of Japan-China-Korea Youth Joint Declarations

【Objective】

・            Making the tangible output of the conference as a document

・            The discussion process on producing the declaration promotes participants from the three countries for mutual understanding and acquirement of new knowledge.

・            To build the base of common vision for Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network Office.

【Content】

・            To make the declaration from the point of view of students from three countries based on group discussion and entire gathering

【Content of the Declaration】

・            The student perception of the main environmental themes (the common challenges of three countries: climate change, biodiversity and desertification) and a profession for the activities afterwards and an appeal to other students and generations.

4)            Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network Office kick-off meeting

・            Discussion for the kick-off for Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network Office

5)            Locking around Nagoya Harbor

【Objective】

・            To study around the conference venue

・            To deepen exchanges during participants

【Content】

・            Visiting some places around the conference venue: museum or ship (TBA)

6)            Field Trip: Visit to some environmental educational site

【Objective】

・            The visit to see good practice in Japan promotes the discussion leading to create new activities or improve the present activities.

・            Institution can get opinions and view from those seriously involved in environmental activities in three countries.

【Content】

To make a visit to some environmental education sites famous for their environmental good practices and to exchange opinions sharing knowhow of their practices.

●            Contact organizations in each country take the initiative on call for the participants and selections in respective country and responsible for the management of the activities after the conference.

【Japan】Japan Youth Ecology League（Eco League）:　Established in1994. Networking about 300 environmental student clubs and organizations nation-wide.

・            【Korea】UNEP ANGEL：Established in 2001. Partnered with UNEP Korea Council, it has a wide range of student membership all over South Korea

About Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Network (provisional) 　　

            Objective

・ To build the mechanism to support constant exchange and sharing of information, knowhow and people leading to promote the partnership of youth environmental activities in three countries and bring forth international joint projects.

・ Networking and joint project management create the human development opportunity for students from three countries to obtain broader views and skills through mutual understanding.

・            Enhance the further presence of the three countries taking the lead in environmental student activities in Asia through sending jointly our good practices to the world

            Prospectus on activities

・            Constant exchange and publication of information: management and maintenance of website and mailing list

・            International exchange：holding the periodical meeting of the Networking Office and promote the participation of the students to the gathering by each networking organizations in other two countries.

・            Promotion of the joint projects

e.g.) Japan-China-Korea Student Environmental Contest, Japan-China-Korea Campus Top Runner (Eco Campus Contest, Joint campaign for climate change or biodiversity (candle night, same poster to call for the reduction of use of papers), Joint development of environmental educational tools (making the books in three languages on education of common challenges such as marine trash.
