





Job description
The European Chamber’s Marketing & Events Manager/Senior Manager plays a key role in managing the activities and services for the Chamber’s Shanghai Chapter Marketing & Events Team. This role will be responsible for the event planning and execution, reviewing content for the Chapter’s digital media of website, wechat, newsletters as well as national media (e.g. EURObiz), and the communications with key stakeholders from business and the diplomatic community.
Event Responsibilities:
Develop and implement annual high-level, high-quality event programme; provide professional recommendations on event opportunities and innovations.
Research, plan and implement Shanghai key conferences and events both online and offline assessing key topics of interests for member value deliveries.
Facilitate communication with members, speakers and CGs in relation to events
Review event backend database up to date and content for digital channels
Prepare event information for internal reporting and other presentations
Manage the RSVPs list for each event based on membership status and arrange the event registration
Review the event wrap-up and generate event summaries
Marketing Responsibilities:
Develop marketing strategies for email communications and newsletters/wechat promotions to create more chamber visibilities and enhance touching points for members
Supervise the collection of materials and preparation and the final layout of the local Newsletter, the Shanghai Focus as well as the Shanghai WeChat account
Coordinate with Beijing and other local Chapters for the preparations of the Chambers promotional materials
Revenue-oriented Responsibilities:
Follow up communication with sponsors/partners for the implementation of events
Keep track and review marketing materials (logos, brochures, banners, flyers, etc.) for events with sponsors/partners
Responsible for the profitability of conferences, seminars and events
Skills & experience
Good knowledge of EU-China issues and strong interest in China's policy/regulatory environment.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the government affairs, events, marketing, PR or a related field.
Team management experience.
Budget management experience.
Near native English and Chinese speaker.
Social media platform management experience, including corporate wechat account.
Strong research skills to understand where key developments are taking place (especially in terms of legislation) and if these have the potential to affect the European business community in China.
Excellent project management skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communicator.
Other desirable skills:

Ability to work to strict deadlines.
High degree of accuracy.
A team player with a proactive and flexible approach to work with an outgoing personality.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
